“You Can’t Get There From Here.”
ByThis is so true and it got me thinking this morning:
Invariably, when big dreams come true, and I mean BIG, Leah, there is a total metamorphosis of one’s life. Their thoughts change, their words change, decisions are made differently, gratitude is tossed about like rice at a wedding, priorities are rearranged, and optimism soars…. Yeah, they’re almost annoying.
You could have guessed all that, huh?
Would you have guessed that these changes, invariably, come before, not after, their dream’s manifestation?
Woohooooooo,
The Universe
This quote reminds me of the old saying: “You can’t get there from here.”
Many people think that their life will change only after they have what they dream about….the job…car…house…lifestyle…relationship…whatever it is that they really want. That achieving the dream is what will bring the happiness, success and meaning into their lives.
That idea is backwards!
If you are dis-satisfied, frustrated, uninspired and totally tuned out, then there is no way your dream life can show up. It is not an energetic match!
Living your dream will come as a result of your tapping into what that dream is and feels like, and aligning yourself with the energy before hand. The best part is that you have the ability to easily do this. It is like training for a marathon. I do not know anyone who can run the Boston Marathon without training for it. (Well, maybe I know one person who did that but that was 20 years ago and he was young, fueled by a lot of whiskey ,and he barely made it and was a wreck for a week after.) The point is that you need to train, and prepare your self mentally and physically for it.
I call this “Aligning with the Energy of your Dream” and it is a fairly simple process. You spend sometime imagining that you are living your dream life and thinking about how it is going to feel and what you are going to be experiencing. Then you set up structures in your life that support you in that.
For example, if your dream life includes lots of activity, and in this moment you spend a lot of time inactive, it would serve you well to get moving and active now. The same is true of setting priorities that support your new life. You have the power to make choices and focus your attention on what you desire. Make a choice to surround yourself with the people and things that support you in it.
Set yourself up for success right now. Act as if you were living your dream and do your best to bring pieces of it into your life bit by bit. It does not have to be anything big and drastic unless that feels good to you. Set the stage for your dream to appear.
And most importantly, GET HAPPY NOW! Begin to embody the energy of what you want to be living right now. Build it up and call forth more of the juicy goodness that you are wanting.
