Reflections on the World Domination Summit
Posted by: | CommentsThe three words that best describe my experience at the World Domination Summit are: Connection, Inspiration, and Fun.
Connection
Chris Guillebeau and his team put on an amazing event. Five hundred unique and awake individuals- all committed to living out their dreams- gathered for the weekend at the Portland Art Museum to listen to the inspiring speakers and meet other non-conforming souls. It was one giant Love fest from the very beginning. Everyone there was someone you wanted to meet. There were open hearts and interesting stories everywhere you turned.
Inspiration
I was constantly inspired by the speakers!
Follow your Heart was a major theme.
Over and over again we were told to follow our dreams, live from a place of excitement & inspiration, and to be fully present to how we want to feel in our lives.
Each speaker’s message echoed a different aspect of the work that I do with clients and it resonated deeply within me.
Here are some of the pieces that I took away…..
Leo Babauta of Zen Habits- change your habits, stop setting goals, free up your energy by simplifying, and each day only do the things you’re excited about.
Danielle Laporte of White Hot Truth- focus on how you want to FEEL in your life. Value your time and make a list of all the things you’re going to stop doing. Make the choice to be in it- whatever it is- be doing it by choice. Embrace your dreams and walk into them. The Universe wants you to win.
Jen Lemen and Andrea Scher of Mondo Beyondo- Embrace your wild and crazy dreams. Live big and juicy! Breath all the juicy goodness into your soul and let the magic of the Universe work.
Neil Pasricha of 1000 Awesome Things- Enjoy life to the fullest by focusing on all the small awesome things that happen every day.
Karen Walrond of Chookooloonks & The Beauty of Being Different- The things that make you different are your super powers! Everyone has something unique to offer the world. The world needs what you have to offer!
Fun
This event was designed to be fun! It doesn’t hurt that Portland is a beautiful city and it’s really easy to get around in. There were official events like the kick-off party, group sessions, long lunches, group tours, and the closing party, and then there were un-official meet-ups happening all weekend long. It was non-stop action! I went on a few different grand adventures and explored some cool neighborhoods. I really liked the Hawthorn Street area. I went on a Sweet tour and sampled some yummy chocolates and pastries with a group of fun people and we got caught in a never ending parade on the way back to our rooms. I’m so appreciative of all the fun playmates that I found.
I’ve already signed up for next year’s WDS. If you want to come too, make sure you put your name on the list for tickets now so you don’t miss out. It would be awesome to see you there!
World Domination and Some Other Cool Things
Posted by: | CommentsWorld Domination!
Today I’m headed out on a grand adventure to Portland Oregon to take part in the World Domination Summit. This is something I’ve been looking forward to since September. It will be awesome to hang out with so many other non-conforming world changers. They are my kind of people.
I can’t wait to meet in real life all the friends I’ve made via Twitter and Facebook, and I will finally be able to give a big hug to some of the fine folks who have been on my radio show like Pace & Kylie and the Freak Factor guy- Dave Rendall.
I’m excited to take classes from the likes of Danielle LaPorte, Mark Silver and Pam Slim. We’ll see if I can’t convince them to come on my show too!
I’ll do my best to take pictures so I can share all the juicy goodness with you when I come back.
This Rocks!!
I came across this amazing site via a post from my friend Pace Smith on Twitter. Mars Dorian has perfectly illustrated what I mean when I talk about embracing your inner-freak. Check it out right here.
Some Cool Collaboration!
I’ve been hanging out with Garret LoPorto – the dude who created the Wayseer’s Manifesto. We the help of a few friends, we are conspiring to put together a series of live events designed to create a weekly energy boost for all the folks who resonate with the message of the Wayseer’s. It looks like the first event will be coming up soon in the Boston area. If you’re local and want to check it out let me know.
That’s it for now! I’m off to take over the world! Woo-Hoo!
A Study in Kick-Ass Creation-The Rock & Roll Guru
Posted by: | Comments
I learned about Joe Heuer, the Rock and Roll Guru from my friend Dave Rendall when he featured him as Freak of the Week on his blog. When I read Joe’s awesome philosophy I was sold-
“We came here to groove, not to endure. We’re supposed to have fun and do what brings us juice and gives us passion. Do whatever makes your heart sing.”
Joe is a great example of someone who has embraced his Inner-Freak to identify what makes him unique and different. He is now rocking it out and sharing his gifts with the world as the Rock and Roll Guru.
I invited Joe to join me on My Kick-Ass Dream Life to discuss how he defied the box to create his Kick-Ass Life, and if we’re lucky, he will share some of his rock and roll philosophy

How Did She Break Free of Her Pre-Packaged Life?
Posted by: | CommentsAngela Minelli is a great example of someone who was living a less than satisfying, in-the-box, kind of life who empowered herself to make some major changes in order to take charge of her health and career.
Angela was considered to be very successful in her career in the insurance industry. She made great money, but she was uninspired and burnt out. She was dealing with all kinds of physical aliments that made it hard for her to feel passionate about anything.
Then she empowered herself to do something about it! She set out on a healing journey that lead to many great awakenings and a career that she is passionate about.
How did she do it?
Check out this 60 minute interview where we explore how Angela broke free from her pre-packaged life, embraced her passions and created her version of a Kick-Ass Life.
