Being out of the Flow, Escaping your Role, and Mermaids
ByThe Super Moon kicked my ass. I admit it. Over the past week and a half I’ve been sick with some mysterious flu, lost my voice, and had a pink eye like problem for a few days. Now I’m generally feeling foggy in the brain. I’ve been totally out of my flow. I surrender…Ok??
I get it! This is the time for change. The spring is here and the message I’m getting is to slow down, and re-evaluate where my energy is going. I obviously can’t keep going on at the same pace I have been. As my coaching business grows, and I have more awesome clients to serve, I’m finding that it is time to make some choices concerning what is the best use of my time and energy.
I was having a conversation with someone about ‘pruning’ the other day. We were discussing the idea of being willing to chop off some fruit bearing branches in order to maintain the health and increase the overall productivity of a tree. It’s time to break out the pruning shears and chop of some branches.
Is there any pruning that you need to do in your life?

Mermaids
I’ve been spending a lot of time in my mermaid corner looking up at the mermaids hanging from the ceiling and speculating about getting more. I’m going to Craft Boston this weekend and I imagine I will find some there.
I have them in every room of my house except the bathroom- which seems a bit strange because that is where the most water is and mermaids and water do go together. I think I’ll have to fix that.
What are you up to this weekend?

Leah–that MOON!!! Loved it. Your need to change by pruning is interesting. That moon definitely accelerated growth in my garden and scrambled the Tuxedo Cat’s brains. He’s been talking to me about it–but not sure what he’s saying. I second Catherine’s shout out of your audio series! Yeah, kick ass!

Hey Leah!
I love the feel of pruning that you speak of- I think that times are speeding up- what we used to do in a span of years is now only taking days- we do tend to fill our days up with stuff, because we can! I believe that being aware of this is key- but yeah, pruning off fruit bearing branches would bring up feelings of uncertainty and maybe a bit of fear- but make room for more of what really serves my bestest! : )
And as for my weekend, I’ve got company coming that I’ve not seen since last summer and we’re going to catch up and do a little dancing!
Here’s to more Kick-Ass!

Hi Kate and Beth!
The idea of pruning is really resonating with me right now. A friend and I were discussing it the context of growing an apple tree, and one of the best ways to nurture it and ensure it’s health and increase it’s long term apple production is to prune back some of the seemingly healthy branches in order to give the tree more energy to grow and flourish. I recognize that my life could benefit from some of that right about now.
How about you? Is there anything that you could trim back?
