The Freak Factor
Posted by: | CommentsI am still thinking about this week’s Defy the Box Radio Show. I had a great conversation with Dave Rendall about his manifesto called:
The Freak Factor : Discovering Uniqueness by Flaunting Weakness. ( Download it and read it!)
When I first read this I was very impressed. It resonated with the core message behind Defy the Box.
Let your Freak Flag Fly in order to enjoy great meaning and success.
I can’t stress this point enough…… It’s OK to be different, and there is nothing wrong with you.
It’s time to stop making yourself wrong and trying to stuff yourself into the “Box” that society is trying to cram you into. It is a waste of your time and energy, and it just doesn’t feel very good. You would be better served by embracing these “problems” that other folks think you have and finding an environment that supports them.
I can’t stress how important it is to create the right environment and find the right people to surround you. You are not necessarily born into it. Sometimes you need to go out and create it. I think that accepting yourself helps a lot with this. The way you feel about yourself and what makes you different directly affects who and what you attract in to your experience.
For example, when I had Kali from the Kink Academy on DTB radio, we talked about authentic sexuality and the importance of accepting and feeling good about your desires. If you feel that your kinky desires are bad, then you tend to attract a person into your experience who feels that you are bad for wanting those things…..which in turn feeds your feelings of being bad. When you embrace your desires and feel good about them, you will attract people in to your experience who are down with them too, and you can enjoy some fun and feel good about it.
Is there anything about you that you are tired of trying to fix?
What would happen if you embraced it ?

What I learned at the Kink Academy

This weekend I went on a fun adventure to the Kink Academy and got to spend some time with Princess Kali. She ROCKS! She is a true example of someone who is not afraid to embrace her Inner- Freak to create a life that is fun and prosperous. She offers a wide variety of classes and workshops as well as one –on- one mentoring to folks who want to explore their kinky side. The more I talked with her, the more I realized that our messages are similar.
My time spent with her reminded me that Life is like a big buffet with all kinds of choices. You fill your plate with the things that look good to you and try them out. Then go back for more if you liked it. Rock On! |
Your Inner-Freak
Posted by: | CommentsPeople tell me I am interesting all the time.
Mind you, these are typically people who live “normal’ mainstream lives. They have regular jobs and watch a lot of TV and are busy trying to keep up with everyone else. There is lots of the same-old-same-old going on.
I always ask them “what makes me so interesting?”
I get a similar answer every time. People are interested in my lifestyle, that I am always doing something new, hanging out with people who are exciting and cutting edge. I go to fun and funky events that they wish they got invited too. They find that I hold a unique perspective.
The biggest thing that interests them is that I do what I want in my life. They express a desire for all of fun and excitement that I seem to experience that is unavailable to them.
You know what?
This same fun and excitement is available to everyone.
I am nothing special.
I just know the key to living a thrilling life.
I will let you in on the secret:
Get to know your Inner-Freak.
We all have one.
It’s that part of you that craves something different.
It wants to try all kinds funky of stuff and be a bit wild.
Your inner-freak knows what will make your life fun and exciting and it is committed to feeling good.
Because of this, it knows where your happiness and success can be found.
Your inner-freak brings your own unique perspective to the world and does not care what everyone else thinks you should be doing.
It’s what makes you different, unique and allows you to stand out from the crowd.
It is right there waiting for you to release it. All you have to do is be willing to take a chance and step outside of your usual Box.
Want to learn how to access your inner freak?
Shoot me an email and I will teach you how.
Conformity Thwarts You The Most
Posted by: | CommentsEveryone doesn’t have to be the same. Most say,”Well, it’s so much easier if we’re all the same.” And we say, it is not easier when you’re all the same; conformity is the thing that thwarts you most. That massive wanting to get you to conform – to all think the same way and want the same things – is what is causing the revolt that is happening within you. You are determined to be freedom-seekers in a Mass Consciousness society that is determined to make you the same.

Walking Out
Posted by: | CommentsA few months ago, I spent the day at a Woman’s Leadership conference sponsored by a wonderful organization called Berkana. One topic of discussion was the concept of “Walk Outs”. A “Walk Out” occurs when someone decides that they can no longer tolerate living a pre-packaged life from the ready made world. This person makes the choice to “walk out” of the school system, job, institution, or what ever it is they are no longer choosing and move on to some other situation that better serves them. In many situations these people are creating something new for themselves, something that represents who they are.
WOW!! This idea struck me as being at the core of the work that I do with people. Let’s face it; we do live in a ready made world. I am not just talking about food here! It seems that nearly everything is pre-packaged: the education system; the American Dream; health care; and financial institutions. Then there is the kind of work that you are supposed to do to make the money you need in order to live the way you are supposed to live. Marriage and relationships are supposed to look a certain way. You are supposed to look and act a specific way. There are all these ideas about who, what and how we are supposed to be in order to be successful and achieve all we are supposed to achieve.
What do you do when these pre-packaged ideas do not resonate with you? How about when you tried to live that life but it is no longer feeling good to you and you want MORE from your life? Now you want the freedom to be who you really are, to let your unique freakiness out, and to be prosperous while doing it!
One thing you might do is give me a call to talk about how I might help you create something new for yourself ! In my life I have “walked out” of many traditional pre-packaged roles and have been successful in creating a life that allows me to be to be my freaky self. I can help you do that too!
