The Realization that Changed Everything

Posted by: | Comments (11)

This was a big turning point for me……….

I was feeling stuck, worried about money and frustrated that my lover wouldn’t commit to living together.  I was feeling stagnant and cranky about it so I got on the phone with my favorite coach of all time and proceeded to tell him that there were a few areas of my life that weren’t feeling that great to me. I wasn’t making enough money in my business and my lover didn’t want the same things from our relationship as I did. Everything was OK besides that.

“As long as I don’t think about these things I’m good, but then something happens and I get lost in feeling bad about my lover not wanting to live together and how I’m just scraping by each month and I get stressed out and start feeling bad”

“I just need some wiggle room! I don’t want to feel like I’m settling.”

His response knocked the wind out of me for a minute.

“You don’t believe you can have it”

There was a long silence on my end as I let those words settle in. Then I realized that it was true! On some level I didn’t truly believe that I could have the relationship, business, money, and life that I truly wanted.

I wasn’t allowing myself to dream big and look for other solutions that would open up the way for everything that I wanted because I was protecting myself from my desires. I was thinking small and playing small and willing to settle for “wiggle room” rather than going big and opening up the way for something magnificent to come in.

That conversation changed everything for me.

I started noticing all the places I was aiming small and settling because I doubted I could have what I wanted. I gave myself permission to dream big and get specific about what I desired in my life. And my life changed drastically for the better. I ditched my old boyfriend and found myself someone who wanted the same things that I did. I changed the way I was doing business and made more money. I upped my game and expanded into the luscious life I wanted to live.

Now my life is full of all kinds of juicy goodness and I’m passionate about helping you create the same thing too!

It breaks my heart when I talk to women who are settling for unsatisfying lives. They’re bored, frustrated and uninspired about some aspect of their work, relationships, or life and find themselves settling for whatever everyone else is having, and afraid to ask for what they really want.

When I ask them what they want their response is-“I don’t know.

Every time I hear this, it activates the coach in me. Once we dig in it becomes apparent that they do know what they want- they’re just afraid to claim it!!

I know that life is full of juicy goodness and I want YOU to give yourself permission to claim it!Unleash Yourself!

That is why I have teamed up with my dear friend Kelle Sparta to create an exciting new class starting in July called Unleash Yourself! 30 Days to Luscious Freedom. This class will have you shouting “ I Love My Life” from the roof tops!  There is room for 30 Luscious Ladies to join us on this fun and transformational adventure (sorry guys).

If you are tired of settling and are ready to start living a luscious life of your own – email me and I will fill you in on the class details. Don’t delay if you want to get in on the crazy good early bird pricing that ends June 10th.

I’d love to have you join us!!

What Do You Stand For?

Posted by: | Comments (16)

Here’s part three of my series describing the three key components to flying your freak flag so you can AMP UP your shine factor and make more money.

In my last post I talked about owning who you are and what differentiates you from all the rest.

Let’s rock out Key 2:

Taking a stand for what you believe in

Why do you do what you do?

I know there is a very specific reason why you decided to open up your business.
On the surface it might have been because you don’t want to work for someone else, or it was to make money, but I know that there’s more to it than that.

Connecting to the reason WHY you do what you do, knowing what you believe in, and setting up your business to reflect that is the way to attract loyal fans who give you money.

It all comes down to this:
People buy what they believe in.

They hire you & become loyal fans because they resonate with what you stand for, and the revolution/transformation that you are offering.

The services you offer are the vehicle that transports people to your revolution

When you combine your revolution with your super powers; you become the obvious choice for your people.

If you don’t know WHY you do what you do, how can you compel someone to hire or be loyal to you?

 Taking a Stand

What do you stand for?

How do you feel about taking a stand for what you believe in?

Does it sound scary to you?

Are you afraid that if you express a strong opinion you will lose clients and people will unsubscribe from your list?

You know what? They will! People will unsubscribe and not work with you, but that is OK. They were not your right people to begin with.

Look at it this way, you want people to rally up under your freak flag. In order to do that you need be bold and courageous and have an opinion. Give them something to say ” Hell Yhea!” to!

Be a revolutionary and wave your flag high and proud! That’s the way to rally up your fans. Give them something to rally around.

What if you offend someone?

Who cares!!!!! Stop worrying about offending people! It limits your self expression.

I’m not suggesting that you intentionally say offensive things.

No matter how careful you are-not everyone is going to like you no matter what you do. You’re better off being yourself and saying what you want to say. Give people something to talk about! There is nothing worse than being forgettable.

People hire you because they have a strong opinion about you and resonate with what you’re offering.

The people who say “Hell Yeah” are your right people, and they are the ones who will give you money. The ones who don’t like what you have to say or the way you show up, were never going to buy anything from you to begin with. Got it?

Spend some time identifying what you believe in and stand for in your life and your business. It doesn’t matter if it’s freaky or obscure. If you feel strongly about it and are compelled to take action around this, I guarantee that there are people out there who are waiting for you to raise your flag so they can rally around it.

Helpful questions for identifying what you stand for

What’s your point of view about how the world works?

What drives you crazy?

What do you see as missing?

What pisses you off?

Where do you constantly want to take action to change things?

In most cases, this is what got you into the business that you are in. It’s the WHY and the driving force behind what you do

Share what you stand for in the comments below!

Viva la Revolution! (Part 1)

Posted by: | Comments (1)

If you want to make money, you need to differentiate yourself from all the other people offering similar services. It doesn’t matter if you are a musician, healer or life transformation expert; you need to give people a compelling reason to hire YOU.

The question is- How do you go about doing that?

I’m going to say right up front this is not about the nuts and bolts of what you do and how you do it. There are plenty of coaches, musicians and healers out there, and everyone has different tools in their tool box. People don’t hire you because of how you do what you do. They hire you because they resonate with your message and what you stand for. They want to participate in the revolution that you are leading!

Claim Your Revolution!!!

When you are creating your own business it is all about you and what you bring into your biz. It’s your vision, skills, personality and perspective that you are selling. If you’re a freak like me-blindly following some guru’s blueprint for success won’t work .

Embracing who you are and what you stand for will get you much farther and it will feel way better. This is what flying your freak flag is all about!

I bet your thinking- Who me? Lead a revolution?  Am I even qualified to do that?

Oh yes you are!   I bet you already have one in mind, you just don’t know it yet, or you’ve been afraid to claim it.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve coached someone to reveal their  revolution, but they back away from it already convinced that they can’t do it or no-body wants it.

Once they embrace it; things start shifting and new opportunities appear. Like the musician I worked with who wanted to be the Soul Drummer and lead the revolution of music as a spiritual practice. He embraced it and within a few weeks the money started rolling in. He landed a new steady gig with an awesome church band and attracted other musicians who feel the same way that he now collaborates with.

Discovering your Revolution

Let’s start with identifying your unique perspective.

We all have a unique perspective and way of seeing the world; let’s call it your point of view. Your point of view is what you know to be true and feel passionate about. It’s the thing that drives you and the wisdom that you live by. It’s also what makes you special and unique. It’s always there whether you recognize it or not.

Take the time to identify your point of view and be conscious of it. Doing so helps you stay true to you, and sends out a powerful signal that attracts other people who resonate with it into your experience. They will quickly become your friends and allies.

Here is my point of view- I am here to be fully self-expressed and create my life anyway I want too and you are too! We are both here to fly our freak flags high and proud and do the things that feel totally kick-ass to us. I’m responsible for all my OWN outcomes and happiness…just like you. When we take 100% responsibility for our own lives and do what feels best to us; our lives will be totally kick-ass and we will be tapped into our ever abundant flow.

What’s your point of view?

This piece can be tricky because it requires you to take a stand and have a strong opinion.

How does that feel to you?

I see so many entrepreneurs who are hesitant to take a stand! Is this you too?

You don’t want to offend anyone or miss out on potential clients who don’t have the same point of view, so you water down your message and get wishy-washy with your opinions and become a jack-of-all-things. This back fires because then people get confused about what  you do so they don’t buy from you, or you end up doing a bunch of work you don’t want to do.

You want to have an opinion and to take a stand for what you believe in- in your life and your biz! There is nothing worse than someone who is whishy-washy and doesn’t take a stand for anything.  It’s hard to trust them or know who they are.

People buy from people they resonate with!

Ok…I know this is getting a bit long….in the next few days I’ll post you- Viva La Revolution Part 2- where I talk about how to come up with your specific revolution.

For now – spend some time identifying your point of view and send me what you come up with in the comment section down below.

What Do You Stand For?

Posted by: | Comments (0)

This month I’m part of a really cool program called the Morning Whip.  I’m in the process of fine tuning my biz to focus on working with non-conforming entrepreneurs who want to eliminate completion, stand out and shine, and make more money by flying their freak flag.

Since I know I’m very easily distracted by shiny things- the Daily Whip seemed like the perfect solution. I’m happy to say that it is totally working!!  I’m so clear on what my next steps are and I feel like I’ve gotten some serious momentum going now. Yay!! Plus I’m meeting some really cool women.

One of the assignments is to get crystal clear on your view point and revolution. Both pieces are essential because they allow you to take a stand for what you believe in and what you offer the world. This is crucial because the clearer you are on what you stand for and what you offer, the stronger the signal you’re sending out to the Universe- the faster the Universe will send opportunities to do it your way.

Your view point and revolution are unique to you. They are part of your freak flag, and when you wave it high and proud, it makes it really easy for the people who resonate with what you are offering to find you and buy from you.

Your view point is what makes you special, unique and different. It’s what you know to be true and feel passionate about. It’s the thing that drives you and the wisdom that you live by.

Your revolution is what pisses you off, what you see that’s missing and what you’re going to do about it.

This is such an important piece for entrepreneurs, especially if you are a coach, healer or other life transformation expert. This is the piece that will differentiate you from all the rest so that you don’t get lost in the crowd.

Do you know what your point of view and revolution is?

This is what I’ve come up with for mine.

My View Point

I am here to be fully self-expressed and create my life anyway I want too and you are too! We are both here to fly our freak flags high and proud and spend our time doing things that feel totally kick-ass.

I’m responsible for all my OWN outcomes and happiness…just like you.

There is no reason to stay stuck in any situation that feels sucky…EVER!!!

When I am fully self-expressed, taking 100% responsibility for my own life and doing what feels best to me; my life is totally kick-ass and I’m tapped into my ever abundant flow.

Mmmmmm….that feels good to think about!

My Revolution

It makes me crazy to see amazing, talented musicians, artists, healers and coaches struggling to survive and feeling like they need to give up their dreams and settle for a crappy job in order to be successful and make money!

Settling sucks!

Sure you might make some money if you go back to that soul-sucking job you used to have, but what about the quality of your life and your desire to be self-expressed and do what you love?

Giving up and conforming is not the way to go! Success lies in the opposite direction………..

The way to be successful is to stand out and shine by bringing more of you into your biz! Think about it. The most well known successful people got that way by doing their own thing. Oprah, Steve Jobs, Madonna, Sir Richard Branson, and Donald Trump all followed their dreams and played by their own rules. They are innovators. They did what they wanted to do the way they wanted to do it.

My revolution is showing musicians and entrepreneurs that the way to make money is to be full self-expressed and to fly your freak flag high and proud.

Be yourself-do what you love-own your talents-do things your way-stand out and shine!

Doesn’t that sound way better than settling and conforming?

I’d love to hear what your view point and revolution is! Share away in the comments down below.

Are Expectations Part of the Evil Empire?

Posted by: | Comments (0)

How often do you end up doing things you don’t really want to do because it’s expected of you?

You go to collage right out of high school because your parents expected you too….or you get married and have kids because it’s what your partner expects. Then you spend all your free time running your kids around because you’re expected to. That’s what parents do.

I know someone who went to law school because that is what was expected. The fact that they had no interest in becoming a lawyer was irrelevant. They ended up spending $100,000 and wasting years of their life on something that they hated. Only to ditch it later when they woke up and decided to take their life back.

I let myself get totally burnt out and sick working 70 hours a week as a restaurant manager because it was expected of me. That was before I smartened up and decided that I was in charge of my time and how much I worked.

Living according to other people expectations is a slippery slope that often dumps you right into a pre-packaged life that feels crappy. Matter of fact- the first step towards defying the box and flying your freak flag is choosing NOT to live according to other people expectations.

This  makes expectations seem like they are a bad thing…but is that really true?

I’m certain that having to live up to someone else’s expectations sucks!  It’s limiting and tends to end up with you trying to cram yourself into a box of conformity. Not so very kick-ass!

BUT- I think expectations are helpful in some instances. Knowing what is expected of you in your job or by your partner is very helpful! It makes things flow much easier because you know what someone wants you to do. There’s no guess work.

AND- Having your own expectations for how things will go and what you will do is extremely helpful from an energetic perspective.

You get what you expect- any LOA student knows that.

Picturing how you want things to be, using your intention and expecting that it will turn out as you wish is powerful magic. It’s how I create my Kick-Ass Life!  What about you?

I think expectations are sucky when they are forced on you and there is no clear communication about what is expected so you can say “yes” or “no” to it. I see this happen in relationships all the time.

Hell, I sometimes do it!! I used to expect that my boyfriend would automatically come to all family events with me….because that’s what you did- in my mind at least. He preferred for me to invite him and let him choose whether he wanted to come or not. I’d get so mad when he said he needed to think about going.

Our relationship got much better once we started discussing our expectations with each other, and each of us having the option to choose which exceptions we wanted to play along with.

It’s all about the choice. (Isn’t everything??)

I know that some philosophies say to release expectations- but that’s a bunch of bullshit! We’re human and part of being human is having an opinion on how you want things to be in your life. That is what helps you live the life you want to live.

What I think we could stand to release is the belief that everyone knows what we expect and has to live up to it. When it comes right down to it, your outcome is up to you. No one else is responsible for it. You can have all the expectations that you want, but it’s all on you to make sure they play out.

Perhaps the secret is to become aware of what your expectations are. Then let people know what they are and give them the choice to play along or not. Just like you have the option of playing along with theirs or not.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this.

Are expectaions helpful or not?

What are some of yours and how do they serve you?
