Does this sound like you?
Works leaves you drained, demoralized and exhausted from hiding who you really are. As a result, you feel too exhausted to spend time on what really matters to you so you numb out most nights with TV, drinks, or whatever else that distracts you from thinking about the daily stuff that feels yucky. You don’t have to live this way.
Join me and my guest, Leah Shapiro (defythebox.com) and discover a bold, new way of living that gives you freedom, authenticity and great money. We’ll be on Career Momentum Radio Wed, 8 April, from 6:30 – 7 PM (ET), 3:30 PM (PT). Don’t miss this interesting and valuable discussion! For more information, see

The Aliveness Inside: Can You Feel It?
Posted by: | CommentsLast night I was hosting a meeting of the New Earth Meet-Up group that I created.
If you are a fan of Eckhart Tolle, I encourage you to join in! At the meeting we were discussing Chapter 8: The Discovery of Inner Space. This chapter discusses the practice of becoming aware of your inner body and learning to feel the aliveness that is inside of you. I find that tuning into your inner aliveness is a key component to living a life that feels good and is meaningful. When you are tuned into your inner aliveness, you have access to all the information you need to make the right choices for yourself. That is where your inner guidance system hangs out. The more tapped into your inner guidance system you are, the easier it is to discover and stay on the path that will lead you to your own private Shangri-la.
I find that many people have totally tuned out from their inner guidance system. They do not feel the aliveness inside of them. Rather they feel empty and disconnected. There is a continuous under currant of unease. Since we all essentially crave connection and meaning, we begin to look for it in other places. Sex, drugs and Rock in Roll are a few of the places that people search. I think the most common place people look is intimate relationships. You are looking for the man or woman that will “make you happy”, your other half, or someone who will complete you.Of course this often leads to a big let down and you are once again left feeling disconnected and feeling the under currant of unease, except now you blame it on your partner.
Many people buy into the pre-packaged belief that says someone else can make you happy.
Let me clear this up right now: You are responsible for your own happiness. No one else can do it for you.
Happiness is an inside job. You can find it right there inside of you hanging out with the aliveness and your inner guidance system.
Can you feel it?
If you want to learn how to tune into this part of yourself, give me a call and let’s see how I might help you.
Vision vs. Plan
Posted by: | CommentsI hate when I am filling out a questionnaire and I am faced with the question: What is your 1 year, 5 year and 10 year plan for your life. I never know what to put. Time frames and plans just don’t work for me. They seem limiting.
What I would rather do is connect to my vision for my life. I think having a vision is a powerful thing. It gives you a destination to aim at, but the freedom to get there anyway you like.
For example, let’s say you are planning a cross country trip. What is more appealing to you: having everything panned out day by day with a specific route to follow, with each stop timed and laid out in advance? Since you have not been on this journey before you are basically guessing what you want to see based on the travel guides and what other people say. Keep in mind there is no time for dilly-dallying because your time frame is limited. You follow your itinerary and hope that you made the right choices when you laid everything out.
Or do you prefer to have a looser schedule, with plenty of time for exploring and following your interests. Since you have never been on this journey, you have some ideas about what you want to see and do, but you want to leave plenty of room for exploration and experiencing the journey. Maybe you are over come with the beauty of the Grand Canyon and decide to stay there for a few days, or you meet some interesting people and they invite you to come to their place in New Mexico for a week or so. You take your time rambling along until you arrive at your destination after experiencing everything that came along and caught your fancy.
Do you get the appeal of having a vision instead of a plan?
Do you know how to create and connect to your vision for your life?
I will be exploring this topic in my blog and in the Defy the Box community over the next two weeks. Come join the conversation.
